OMD UK appoints Habib and Shah in new strategic partnership

OMD UK are proud to announce the double appointment of Hamid Habib and Rian Shah to form a new partnership which will spearhead our strategic offering.  Habib and Shah will both adopt the board-level role of managing partner, strategy, reporting directly into managing director, Dan Clays.  We are expecting them to start at the agency in Q3 this year.

Habib and Shah are recognised talents in the industry, both appearing in Campaign’s Top 10 media planners in December last year. At OMD UK they will combine their expertise to drive they agency’s strategic planning across client briefs, new business opportunities and new product development.

Habib joins us from Havas Media where he has been managing partner, strategy since March 2012.  He previously worked at Zenith as head of strategy and it was here that he first worked with Shah, who joined Zenith in 2005 in the agency’s then digital offering, Zed Media. On Habib’s departure at Zenith, Shah replaced him as head of strategy.

Habib and Shah replace Toby Roberts, former managing partner, strategy. Roberts left OMD UK in December 2012 to become global head of strategy for Unilever at fellow Omnicom Media Group agency, PHD.

Of the new appointments, Dan Clays, managing director, OMD UK, says:

“I was keen to look at a partnership model because, for a media communications agency today, there is such a vast ground to cover strategically for clients. In Hamid and Rian, we have a brilliant combination of talents. Creative pairings are common in ad agencies, but introducing a planning partnership to lead our strategic product is new ground for a media agency. The boys are itching to bring fresh thinking to our clients, our very talented planning team and to the future direction we’re taking at OMD UK.”
