From today, the YouTube generation will be invited to connect and collaborate with other young people to celebrate and champion the things that matter most to them – all thanks to Channel Us. This exciting new YouTube channel is the next activation of McDonald’s latest brand platform – ‘Good Times’ – celebrating the role the brand plays in customers lives.
Created in partnership with Drum, Omnicom Media Group UK’s content arm, and OMD UK, McDonald’s is connecting young people across the UK to turn their passions and ambitions into reality in just 72 hours. From organising a fashion show to performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the series will see the Channel Us stars tackle challenges head on.
McDonald’s has enlisted two of YouTube’s biggest Vlogger talents, Oli White and Gabriella Lindley, who will fulfil the roles of both presenter and contributor as they call upon their worldwide fan bases to back the Channel Us stars on their incredible journeys.
“This is a ground-breaking moment for McDonald’s in the UK” said Alistair Macrow, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer at McDonald’s. “The launch of Channel Us is completely new territory for the company and we are proud to help some amazing young people join together to realise their potential. Channel Us is an excellent example of how McDonald’s UK continues to embrace changing trends and working with young YouTube talent enables us to target key audiences; providing content that is both engaging and exciting.”
“We’ve been working hand in hand with Drum and OMD UK to make this a reality and we can’t wait to watch the journeys unfold and see the impressive skills, ideas and talent that emerge.”
“Here at McDonald’s we make it easy to enjoy the things you love. Channel Us is no different. If it’s about one thing, it’s the ‘Good Times’ we create together.”
