We take a look back at the stories that grabbed people’s attention this week.
The Return of Tim Peake
He’s coming home, he’s coming home, he’s coming, Tim Peake’s coming home!
Not only has our British astronaut successfully completed six months in space, but he has also performed a spacewalk, taken part in 250 space experiments, is the first person to get honoured by the Queen while not being on the planet, AND he ran the London Marathon, in SPACE.
His mission has also been a roaring success because of the constant contact the world has had with him. He’s tweeted us, taken part in live-feed Q&As, as well as reaching millions of children to get them interested in the exciting universe around them.
This Saturday 18th, he’ll finally be putting his boots back on Earth, and we know there will be an enormous amount of coverage both on social and broadcasting formats.
Royals Against Bullies
Prince William was trending on Twitter this week as he makes history by becoming the first royal to feature on the cover of an LGBT magazine. Kensington Palace tweeted “The Duke of Cambridge is on the cover of the next issue of @AttitudeMag speaking out against bullying”, and the response, as you would imagine, has been resoundingly positive. Many tweeting replies of the enormous pride they feel that the future King is spreading such messages of positivity as he is quoted as saying “No one should be bullied for their sexuality. Don’t put up with it. Be proud of the person you are”.
It’s a wonderfully strong message coming from someone so influential, which also helps the Stop Cyberbullying Day campaign.
