Walkers partners with ITV for Her Majesty’s 90th birthday

In 2016, the Queen celebrated her 90th Birthday and naturally there has been significant consumer interest and media visibility surrounding the landmark occasion. Walkers having such strong British equity, saw this as a perfect opportunity to celebrate along with the nation to wish the Queen a Happy 90th Birthday. They set to mark the occasion with the launch of two limited edition flavours; Beef & Horseradish and Chicken & Stuffing.

As a media first, we collaborated with ITV to weave Walkers in with 10 other iconic British brands for one exclusive TV advertisement. All of this royally exciting action took place on the Corrie cobbles and aired during The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration show on Sunday 15th May 2016, reaching over 6.6 million viewers.

To help drive awareness of the limited edition flavours and build on the hype of The Queen’s Birthday Celebration show, we had a paid social element supporting twitter brandter (no, that is not a typo) between the brands who featured in the celebratory advertisement.
