Roll the dice, pass GO, and get ready to take your Monopoly token on a trip around the world! In celebration of the Monopoly’s 80th anniversary, Hasbro has teamed up with BuzzFeed to ask fans to choose which cities around the world will be featured as property spaces in the new MONOPOLY HERE & NOW: World Edition game launching this autumn.

To bring the #voteMonopoly campaign to life in the UK and Ireland, we’ve gone with a ‘Battle of Britain’ style social media content strategy, pitting different cities against each other to generate conversation and hopefully lots of votes!  Whichever city gets the most votes will claim the Mayfair square on the board and host the official unveiling, with our intention that it’s going to be London.  Make sure you register your vote at www.VoteMONOPOLY.com!

This is Monopoly UK’s first truly social campaign since the Facebook page launched last summer and will be supported by paid media through OMD UK’s Resolution arm and influential blogger outreach via Hasbro’s PR agency.  If you’d like to keep up with the campaign, make sure you Like www.facebook.com/MONOPOLYUK where we’ll be keeping fans up to date and ramping up the rivalry before the final board is announced on 19th March.
