UK Search Conference 2015

Following our three wins in the UK Search Awards last year, we were invited to present our James Villas and Royal Caribbean SEO case studies to an audience of experts at the UK Search Conference. The premise of the conference was to learn from award-winning work and get insights from the judges on how to create and present campaigns for awards.

Hosted by Microsoft in London, the conference started with a presentation from James Murray, their UK Search Advertising Lead, who introduced the key themes of the day: simplicity, innovation and brilliantly execution. He went on to talk about the latest Microsoft product developments, the highlight being the impressive demonstration of Skype Translate.

We were up later in the day and showcased our two winning campaigns. Our work with James Villas (winner of the Best SEO Campaign) represented a brilliant execution of SEO basics to deliver amazing results. Romolo Lerza and I explained how, with a comprehensive and pragmatic approach, we managed to compete with much larger websites. With our Royal Caribbean case study (winner of the coveted Grand Prix), Steve Robinson and I demonstrated how we used innovation (taking Google Street View to the biggest passenger ship in the world, a world first on a cruise ship) to target a new audience and  deliver over a thousand links, supporting the long term performance of Royal Caribbean’s organic search.

Overall a great day with plenty of takeaways for all attendees!
