Greyworld brings a splash of colour to London’s Trafalgar Square

On the 20th and 21st January 2015, the people of London were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle as Trafalgar Square was set aglow with a night-time rainbow. Yes, you did read that correctly; this unlikely phenomenon was the result of a magical collaboration between Channel 4 and greyworld – a community of artists dedicated to creating unique works of public art in urban spaces. You may already be familiar with their work on our recent Chloé Love Story campaign.

The remarkable scenes in central London marked Channel 4’s latest campaign, which celebrates a trio of brand new programmes created by Russell T Davies: Cucumber, Banana and Tofu. Cucumber (Channel 4) and Banana (E4) are two original drama series starring Vincent Franklin, Cyril Nri and Freddie Fox while Tofu (4oD) is an online documentary series that explores the passions and pitfalls of 21st century LGBT life.

In the run-up to the big stunt in Trafalgar Square, OMD UK launched Channel 4’s campaign around the country with key partners such as Manchester Gay Pride, Gaydio and Attitude, across a plethora of targeted media including outdoor, bar media, TV and complementary mobile activity alongside.
