Following our award of the IPA CPD Platinum Accreditation for the sixth year in a row, we’re reflecting on some of the key changes we’ve made over the last 12 months that have helped us achieve this award.
The Knowledge Express is OMD UK’s industry-leading graduate programme. All graduates from across the agency take part, and it is designed to give them an in-depth introduction to the fundamentals of both media and the agency.
The three-month programme includes workshops from different departments across the business, as well as away days presented by media owners such as News UK, Facebook, Google etc.
For those who have come straight from University with little or no experience in the media world, this proves to be an invaluable learning opportunity and a fast track on what to expect in their role, as well as gaining a comprehensive grounding in media.
It’s not all plain-sailing and learning though, as at the end of the Knowledge Express all graduates must sit an exam testing their knowledge on each area of the business.
For the grand finale, grads take part in pitch week. Working in teams, they receive a pitch brief and are given a week away from their day job to work on a response, presenting it in front of the board members. It provides graduates with an invaluable live-pitch experience.
